Some More Brooches

I finally got some more brooches from my mom and have started putting them onto wire. A lot of the brooches are old and from either my grandma or my great aunt. Here are some pictures.

I think this one makes a neat addition since it's actually a flower in my bouquet. :)

This one is big. But it has such pretty colors in it. I really need to work on lighting these things better. The flash is just way too overpowering in most of the shots. But I think it actually did this brooch some justice.

This one is simple yet pretty.

This is my favorite so far. I don't know why but I love the look of it.

And the last of the ones I have wired so far. I like this one, I'm debating on whether or not to clean it. I bet it would look beautiful all cleaned up and shiny but I sort of like the fact that it is tarnished and looks old. What do you think?

Well I hope I'll be able to post more soon. Now off to look for more brooches!

The First Few

Well, I went and bought some supplies at Jo-Ann fabric & crafts last night so I could start wiring the pieces as I get them. I figure it's more time efficient this way rather then waiting to get all of the brooches and then wiring 50-60 in one go. Plus this way I can sort of see how big I want it and stop when I think it looks good. While I was at Jo-Anns I also found a pendent I really liked that I'm going to put into my bouquet. Here's a picture:
And then my Grandpa had given me a bunch of his old cuff links since he doesn't use them anymore. So I went through them and found two that I thought would work out real nice in the bouquet.
I'm really excited with the pieces so far and can't wait to get more. My mom said she's going to go through what she has and give me some, so there will be more pictures soon! So excited already!

The Beggining

Well, I finally decided I would start a brooch bouquet for my wedding. And I decided I would keep a blog to keep track of all the brooches, rings, earrings and whatever else I use here. And plus I thought it'd be fun to see it come together. I am hoping to get some brooches from friends and family just so it has more meaning instead of all store bought. And to start off I thought I would post some pictures of finished brooch bouquets that other people have made for inspiration. :) Enjoy.
